We make it easy to make a difference. Our future guide dogs work every day to become the best guide dogs they can be. Becoming part of the process is only one experience for you — but a lifetime for a handler! You can learn more about what it means to be a raiser from the GEB website.

Here's some things you should know…

Unmatched Pups*
You can start, continue, or finish an unmatched pup in the Guiding Eyes system! Reach out to the Regional Puppy Instruction (RPI) Cassie to learn more.

24/7 Care
Raisers and their pups are around each other all the time, from morning to night. Our system of sitter schedules and readily available certified members are a wonderful privilege of GEB@IC.

Health of Your Pup
Guiding Eyes for the Blind covers basic vet visits and supplies, but raisers are also subject to financial coverage of: food, toys, gear (weather-appropriate items), medicine/vitamins, and emergency vet visits.

Classes/Evaluations*
Raisers are responsible for their and their pup's attendance to mandatory events (IFT, Walk and Talks, vet visits, etc.).

Q: How has raising changed your life?
A: I can't express how much Yellsea has changed my life. She motivates me to be a better person so I can take good care of her and be a good raiser. Plus, the responsibility I have for her is more than I've ever experienced. She is so important to me.

@geb_nitro_yose
Q: What was your first impression of Guiding Eyes for the Blind?
A: You're never not alone, you always have a huge community at your back to help you, and that shows a lot about what the organization values. I could also tell the dogs were treated well, and raisers were coached through how to train the dogs.

@geb.babs
Q: What has your pup provided you that no one else can?
A: I raised Babs and she provided me unconditional love. Whenever I had a really bad day, Babs would always be by my side ready to give me the love and support I needed. She taught me a lot about myself during my time raising her.
